Kingston Main Floor Plans
Option A
This is an option that doesn’t require two much renovation effort and just switches up your kitchen design slightly. The closet is removed in the front hall and the wall to the right when you enter the kitchen is brought back a bit to open the slight-lines from the front entrance to the back of the house. The peninsula is removed and an island with an overhang to provide additional seating. The Dining and living room stays as they are currently.
Option B
This option removes the front hall closet and brings the fridge/pantry wall back the same as the previous floor plan but also removes the walls between the kitchen and dining room. This would allow for a lot more light to flood into the kitchen and make it one big open area. This plans also allows for the addition of a separate fridge and freezer. I added a desk under the window that used to be in the dining room as well as some freestanding pantries on the far wall. This plan allows for a large working island that also has seating for four. The removal of the wall between the kitchen and the dining room allows for the addition of a freestanding fridge and freezer. The current living room is now used as the dining room.
Option C
This option also removes front hall closet, brings the pantry/fridge wall back and removes the walls dividing the kitchen and the dining room. It is smaller in scale than the previous option and flips your peninsula to the other side with a smaller scale island. The current dining room is turned into a sitting area and the current living room is now the dining room. This option still gives you extra seating on the island as well as the addition of the fridge and freezer.
Option D
This option removes the front hall closet and brings the fridge and pantry wall back to open up the sight-lines. This option I took a bit different approach by adding shallow pantries on the far wall with the sliding doors. This allows for upper and lower cabinets on either side of the fridge and freezer. There is a large island with seating for four as well as a round everyday dining table is moved to the current dining room with built-in banquette seating. The current living room now becomes your formal dining area.
