Pantry Interior

Your pantry is 30” wide which will give you plenty of storage. You can definitely do all adjustable shelves but I do recommend to my clients that pullouts on the bottom make accessing you items much easier.

Interior Of Cabinets

I recommend your drawers be dovetail drawers with full extension tracks. These are extremely durable and will last for years to come. Also request soft close for all of your drawers and doors. This is normally not an expensive add on but is nice to have all of your doors and drawers slowly close on their own. Your interior of cabinets can be white melamine or wood grain melamine interior. Which is easy to wipe down and maintain.

Distance Between Island And Serving Cabinets

I know you would like to extend the back cabinets to the opening but keep in mind this is going to be your main entrance to your kitchen. You will want a 3 foot minimum opening there. Once your kitchen is gutted I would have your contractor tape out the footprint of the kitchen on the floor. It is much easier to make changes at that stage than when the cabinets are in and your stone is cut.

Revised Fridge Wall

Unfortunately I tried adding a small island but there isn’t enough room to add one and have the amount of space I like to have between the cabinets and appliances. I do have 24 inches between the fridge and stove so that you will have space to place items when needed. My cabinets are a bit smaller on this wall then your cabinet manufacturer since I am leaving 42 inches between the coffee bar and the island for ample room to enter into the kitchen. This measurement could change once your space is gutted and framed in and your cabinet maker can do a final measure.

Revised Floor Plan

Here are some options for you shown in 3D, let me know what you prefer or any items or details you would liked changed. I added a checkbox under the designs when there is design options.

Overall Kitchen View

One point to note: the first option shows cabinets on the sink wall going to the ceiling and the other option shows if you need to keep the bulkhead.

Island Size

I have played around with the island sizing, if we make the island smaller which really just makes the cabinet beside the built in microwave cabinet smaller, we can fit two chairs in front of the fireplace. If you do like this idea it would be helpful if the door could swing out instead of into the room as well.

I wanted to show what it would look like if the bulkhead does have to stay.

Think of these options and first drafts, there is room below each option to give your feedback. Let me know what you like or don’t like about each design, we can work off of one plan or combine features from each to create a new design. If you would like to zoom-in on the drawings, right click open image in a new window, and you can zoom-in and print the plans.

Option A

This option has an island that extends into the fireplace area and makes the two spaces become one. I started the island further down so that you have enough room to open the appliances while someone can walk through at the same time. I have added in the bulkheads into both options but we can remove them if there isn’t plumbing in there and extend the cabinets to the ceiling. For the small wall at the end, I have added a desk and wine/coffee bar station area. Under the large window I did add deep drawers cabinets with an upholstered seat. I thought this could be used for when you are entertaining as extra seating.

Option B

For this option I have extend the cabinetry further into the fireplace area and kept the peninsula without the uppers. The peninsula extension is dropped to 28” high to work with the existing window. I didn’t add an island into this option since it would be very narrow, I like to have at least 36” between the two counters. On this option the small wall is utilized as a coffee/wine bar area with the addition of a wine fridge, wine rack and bar sink. I added in wall shelves instead of cabinets between the two windows. You would have to consider how you feel about storing your plates and glasses in the cabinets beside the ovens.
