Small Bungalow Kitchen Design
This is a recent kitchen design project that I worked on, the client had her contractor all lined up and work was slated to begin, she realized that she was unsure of how she wanted her kitchen laid out and wanted to make the most of the small space. This was a local client but we worked together remotely. Every project starts with a questionnaire where I gather all the info needed to begin working on the design. In the questionnaire, I find out how the client would like to use the space, any storage needs, special alliances and there are guides for how to measure and photograph.
The client wanted to have amble gathering space, hopefully, more than one area to sit, minimal upper cabinets and have the design work with her existing appliances. I got to work designing out a few options for her.
Option A
Option B
Option C
After I get back all of the feedback on what worked for her and what didn’t I create the final plan. Although she wanted ample seating we realized that two seating areas really limited the cabinets. In the end, the peninsula area works great and the dining room is open to the kitchen for extra seating.
The great thing about this plan the client now has two pantries with lots of storage possibilities.
We went with drawers almost everywhere, the great thing with drawers is you can store glasses and plates as well as pots and pans and everything in-between.
My client was hesitant to have in the sink the corner but it really is the best location with the corner windows.
