How To Select A Wall Colour

Since we all are spending a lot more time in our homes and the weather is warming up, you might be looking around your space and thinking it could use a refresh, but where to start? Paint is an easy way to update your space, it is inexpensive and makes a huge impact in a room. The amazing thing is a lot of paint retailers are offering delivery or curbside pickup!

You may be thinking I would love to pick a new colour for my room, but you aren’t sure where to start. I always select my paint colours from one item, like an area rug, piece of art or the main focal point in the room. Unless I already know I am selecting a white, but if that is the case, finding the right white that works with the elements in the room follows the same process. I select a few tones that I am considering and from there find the one that works best with all of the elements in the room. Make sure to check your colours with the flooring, current furniture and adjoining rooms’ paint colours. You can order paint samples from Samplize or Hello Paint for Canadian customers, both carry peel and stick paint samples for Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams and Farrow & Ball.

Below I show three examples of three different colours you could pull from this rug each would give you a completely different look.
